This residential garden was a remodel of an existing pool and garden. A series of bi-level planter walls and an anchoring arbor structure help to define the landscape spaces. The use of stone and stucco and a mediterranean plant palette in layers of soft blue greys and greens provide a soothing and relaxing atmosphere.
A front yard makeover enhanced an older home by redefining the entry walk, transforming outdated brick with paint and incorporating a series of low, contemporary, stained concrete walls. The walls, recirculating fountain, and planting create an entry courtyard seating area that welcomes guests. A visually soft, yet structured plant pallette provides overall curb appeal.
This contemporary residence, located along the Stanislaus River, is integrated into the hillside to minimize its impact while maximizing views to the spectacular surroundings. The incorporation of a cascading water feature, that connects the entry courtyard to the backyard patio by passing 'through' the residence, provides a tangible connection to the river below.
This backyard garden retreat provides a respite from the world. The small outdoor space is both functional and beautiful. An inspiring setting for entertaining or enjoying a quiet afternoon reading, while listening to the soft burbling of a small Japanese water feature. The Garden Artist worked closely with a local artisan to create custom wall screens and garden gates for the project.
This contemporay California garden is a perfect setting for an afternoon gathering with family and friends. The gracious pool, firepit and wrapping seat wall and covered dining and BBQ area provide ample space for entertaining. The sculptural fountain viewed from the front entry door beckons visitors to enjoy its soothing sounds!
This country estate is located on a rolling hillside creating grading challenges that were resolved by a series of dry stacked stone walls. The walls define the property's manicured garden area, and help to transition it into the natural surroundings. A bluestone back patio and herb garden provide a place for outdoor entertaining and capitalize on the southern exposure and magnificant views.
This terraced landscape capitalizes on its vantage point by maintaining breathtaking views. A planter located below the patio allows for an open stone seatwall to serve both as seating and to define the patio's edge. A centrally located stone clad firepit provides a wonderful place to gather and stay warm on cool evenings. A simple plant palette blends into the surrounding landscape.
